The last 12 months have been an amazing journey for Elise Testone. She has appeared on national TV and done interviews with Ellen DeGeneres, Jay Leno, Live with Kelly, Access Hollywood, The Today Show, Good Morning America, Good Day LA, Anderson Cooper and more, not to mention being a finalist on American Idol’s 11th Season.
Inspired heavily by an endless range of music that her Dad played daily through his Hobby of collecting/repairing/selling Jukeboxes, Elise has been a Singer since she was physically able and started writing songs at age 18 composing them with either Drums, Piano or a Guitar. Over the last seven years in Charleston, SC, Elise has developed multiple musical projects including James Brown Dance Party, which covered music by James Brown, Tower of Power and Jamiroquai; Slanguage, a band playing original music of funk, rock and blues, Emotive, multiple Jazz duos, trios and Quartets, and her primary band The Freeloaders, which covered Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Black Crowes, Susan Tedeschi and more. Testone also was a Vocal Coach at a local Rock and Roll School from 2008-2011 where she coached aspiring performing artists from ages six to 63. In July of 2011 Testone auditioned for Season 11 of American Idol where she placed sixth amongst the 200,000 people who auditioned. Her Stand out performances included Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love,” Billy Joel’s “Vienna,” and Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together.” After performing Zeppelin, Steven Tyler stated, “You made Robert Plant proud.” Stevie Nicks commented earlier, “I felt a kindred spirit with Elise. If I needed a singer I would hire her in a second, and I don’t sing with just anybody.”
Elise Testone is currently preparing the release of her Debut Album which consists of 12 Original Songs, with two songs co-written with lead guitarist Wallace Mullinax, one co-write with Aaron Levy, and one with Gerald Gregory. Testone has Produced the entire Album and Arranged each Track. The Album was mixed by Testone and Sound Engineer Joey Cox. It will be released Independently under Red Tambo Records.
